Soon Kathleen goes from being a normal student to being a vampire. Kathleen's need for blood is similar to a drug addict's need for drugs, and we watch as she goes from one fix to the next. If you are a philosophy student, you should love this movie! "The Addiction" is quite unique, not your average horror movie. It's stark, grim, futile, very 'human'. The story need be in order to propell Kathleen toward the possibility of salvation. As most people aren't inclined to examine the metaphysical and philosophic elements of existence, the film may be substantively lost on many viewers who won't be bothered with a movie that requires thinking and feeling outside of the usual pedestrian horror movie cliches. The focus here is soul sickness, redemption and Christian iconography, much like Ferrara's wrenching "Bad Lieutenant."

A true obscure anti-masterpiece! The acting and directing is the worst, but that's why we watch these flicks, right?

On 26 April 1979, Kaufman appeared at Carnegie Hall in a renowned performance which included his usual routines, such as "Foreign Man", his Elvis impersonation, "The Cow goes Moo" song and wrestling women. But the show had some surprises as well. At the beginning of the performance, Kaufman invited his "grandmother" to watch the show from a chair he had placed at the side of the stage. At the end of the show, she stood up, took her mask off and revealed to the audience that she was actually comedian Robin Williams in disguise. Kaufman also had an elderly woman (named Eleanor Cody Gould) appearing to have a heart attack and dying on stage, after which he reappeared on stage wearing a Native American headdress and performed a dance over her body, seeming to revive her. The performance is most famous for Kaufman ending the show by actually taking the entire audience, in 35 buses, out for milk and cookies. He invited anyone interested to meet him on the Staten Island Ferry the next morning, where the show continued. This kind of performance art - not stand-up comedy - is what Andy Kaufman is most known for besides his role on Taxi.

As with much of Andy Kaufman's work, My Breakfast with Blassie is extremely self-deprecating, showing Kaufman as being timid yet egotistical, using his role as Latka on Taxi as a way of trying to impress people. The video explores the egotism that develops with stardom, as well as the desire to lead a private life: the double-edged sword of being a recognizable celebrity.

A group of these shape-changing insects are sent to a typical suburb of the U.S.A. to masquerade as the typical American family, and draw up plans to blow up the local nuclear power plant. These four bugs call themselves the Applegates, and they do indeed become the typical American family - unfortunately for their mission... You know that well known fact about insects being the only creatures left alive after a nuclear holocaust? Or even a nucular holocaust? Well, we have all seen from watching old science fiction movies that radiation causes insects to grow to enormous size, but Meet The Applegates is different in that the insects are already pretty big, and intend to turn that radiation on the humans. Written by Redbeard Simmons and the director Michael Lehmann at the time when the threat to the Amazon Rainforest had grown topical, the film is less comfortable being an ecological treatise and happier being a satire on modern American values.

Once upon a time a god gave a mighty sword to the king of Aquiles to bring justice to his people. Now he wants it back - but the king rather gives his life than the sword. Goddess Dehamira, who spoke for him, is being taken all her privileges and banned in a circle of fire, until a human arrives who's strong enough to free her. When prince Ator becomes 18, he gets the sword from the mean sorcerer gnome Grindl, to free Dehamira and his people. On his journey he has to fight against dragons and other fantastic figures.

Survivors of a shipwreck wash up on an island, and run into zombies. Filmed in 1983, this concerns the struggle for survival among a small group of shipwreck survivors on a secluded island (really inland Fairfield, Connecticut, where this was filmed). A seemingly innocent water stream is actually full of acid as one poor parched man soon finds out, and worse, the island is home a cult of small, killer, TRILOGY OF TERROR-style dolls. The dolls have red faces, long black hair, glow-in-the-dark eyes and sharp pointy teeth. Their jaws open so they can screech and their arms move up and down when they scurry through the woods, but other than that, they are hilariously immobile.
