Bob Larson is a radio and television evangelist, currently based in Colorado who
gets really crazy/emotional about Satan and Christianity. The first episode
features Bob going off on the 'evils of Halloween', saying that his daughter got
a Halloween toy in a Happy Meal and how evil it is, among other things. At one
point a Satanist calls into the show and talks about his new born daughter, the
two of them get in a huge argument when Bobby boy tries to pray for it, The 2nd
episode has a confessed homo gets up in front of Bob's gathering and Bob
exorcises the 'demon of anger' that has caused the man to 'commit abominations'.
If you like Christian nuts this guy pretty much takes the cake.
Burning Hell - 20,000 degrees fahrenheit and not a drop of water. The Burning
Hell's credits flash over an all-girl Baptist choir singing a joyful "Hell
Awaits You" as Estus W. Pirkle stands looking thoughtful, perched precariously
on the rocky slopes of Mount Sinai in Israel. Moses suddenly appears, complete
with huge department store Santa beard and eyebrows, to face a crowd of renegade
Israelites and calls upon God to opens up the Mount to swallow them up. Without
warning the camera shakes and a smoking hole appears; helpless sinners and even
entire tents fly into the gaping mouth of Hell. Pirkle turns his horn-rimmed
gaze on the camera and spits out, "Does that shock yew?" This is but a glimpse
of the horrors to come, courtesy of the fertile imaginations of the Ormond
Organization, for those of us who do not believe in a literal Burning Hell.
If Footmen... - Based on the preachings of Reverend Estus W. Pirkle, this film
warns what will happen to America if the citizens do not give up their depraved
ways and turn to God and Jesus for salvation. Communist infiltrators, the
"footmen", will pave the way for an all out invasion by weakening our will
through TV, dance, rock music and alcohol. Once the invasion begins, the new
Communist government will proceed to round up all Christians, and either execute
them or force them to undergo re-education. Only by putting their faith in the
bible where it belongs, says Rev. Pirkle, can America resist the coming Red

century on, it remains the only Christian humor mag-azine, or, as it bills
itself, "the world's pretty much only religious satire magazine." The video is

away from sinning, It does for sin what Jaws did for the ocean! Well, no, I
guess it doesn't. Both of these are directed by
Ron Ormond who is infamous for
these type of films.
Grim Reaper - A mother is worried about her husband and her older son. They are
no longer going to church, begin communicating with dead spirits and, worst of
all, the son wants to become a stock-car racer.
39 Stripes - The true story of Ed Martin, former chain gang convict who
converted to Christianity in prison in 1944 and formed the HopeAglow Prison
Ministries. Ron Ormond's dramatized version of Ed's life in prison follows him
swinging on a hammer in a chain gang, remembering his life of squalor and petty
crime, finding Jesus through the persistence of his future wife Alfreda, and
helping other inmates find salvation through his preaching in the prison chapel.
The 39 stripes refer to the Jewish tradition of flogging criminals just short of

In the wake of the 'satanistic' hysteria of the 80's and early 90's, Bob Larson
jumped on the bandwagon producing this bogus documentary which only succeeded in
fanning the pyre of their own false accusations, and ironically contributing to
the bright flame of Lucifer that would shine the light of speculation,
eventually debunking the whole blindlighter facade.
Amidst a cavalcade of erstwhile 'Satanistic' symbols, Larson presents so-called
"satanic survivors" who recount faerie-tales implanted in their minds by
Christian the-rapists, which are really reflections into their own nightmarish
psyches transferred onto their 'patients' {victims}; Even today, Larson
continues to prey upon the gullible with his faux 'exorcisms', labeling
childhood traumas 'demons' in a literal context, while siphoning thousands of
dollars from his congregation.

This was compiled by a science fiction fan magazine called "Zontar" which has
gone out of print, and whose publisher has dropped out of sight. (Is this
paranoid proof of how dangerous this video is? Your call.) It is a pure
documentary, showing the most ugly examples of Christian evangelical TV from the
"Jim and Tammy" years.
With these videos played straight through, it is devastating, especially because
there is no commentary within the film. The first segment is of "Captain Hook,
the Christian Pirate," a paraplegic victim of a motorcycle accident whose kiddie
show includes the "autopsy" of a sinner and him making sinning children "walk
the plank." It continues with evangelical shows from the boring ("Christian
Economics," anyone?) to the hellfire-inspired. Features include the many charges
right-wing churches make against popular culture - how the Dungeons & Dragons
game is a secret way to worship Satan, how rock music is Satanic, how abortion
will lead to "secular humanist police" machine-gunning children, and worse.
As a kind of fairness, the middle of the tape includes videos from "new age"
cults, including flying saucer cultists, pitches for "miracle liquid" (yes, tap
water in a fancy bottle) and a "new age comedian" who's even more unfunny than
his Christian counterparts. The same manipulation, just space aliens substituted
for Jesus.
Eventually, there's coverage of the scandals of the Bakkers and Jimmy Swaggart,
but that's not the end. The tape ends with post-scandal evangelicals continuing
to pitch (the "Take It Back Telethon" that claims it was Satan, not the law,
that wrecked the Bakkers) and we sail off into the night with Captain Hook once
again.

Three documentaries dealing with the ever popular (at least in my house) topic of Satanic panic that was the cause celeb throughout the 80's and 90's!! First off is a half hour spot that is rather evenhanded and deals with the history of various pagan religions and how the Christian church has demonized them over the years. Watch out for a quick soundbyte from Disinformation's head honcho Richard Metzger. Next is a British scare show called Satanic Panic and Secret Societies that goes full throttle into the kook bin trying desperately to prove that secret cabals of Satan worshipers are combing the streets for your kids RIGHT NOW!!! And finally the nugget of gold in this jackpot: A twelve minute short film about Cathy O'Brien the poster girl for Satanic ritual abuse. Here the 40 something babe explains how she was pimped out to various high ranking official such as every president in the last forty years and most horrifyingly members of the Country and Western music scene! The piece then becomes a cock tease as she claims there is a secret Satanic branding on her vagina thus proving everything is true. The hoax pulled is a dozey and well worth checking out!

Two made for Cable documentaries that are fascinating and frightening. The first deals with the supposed rash of child molestations and murders carried out in the name of Satan during the late eighties and early nineties. The doc interviews many people on both sides of the debate and pretty carefully explores the ridiculousness of the whole mess. SKINHEADS USA is a more frightening look at hate, just because the subject is harrowingly real. Go inside the minds and lives of several US Neo Nazi movements and hear how they justify their ways. Both docs show how demonization of the societal "other" is necessary to carry out hatred in the name of something higher. Very excellent shows.
