Get High On Yourself - The whole effort has been guided by Hollywood Producer Robert Evans, 51 (The Godfather, Chinatown and Popeye). Evans has never worked in TV before. But then, he has never faced so special a challenge. In July 1980 Evans pleaded guilty in a New York federal court to agreeing to buy 5 oz. of cocaine for $19,000. Judge Vincent Broderick deferred judgment, offering Evans a chance to wipe his record clean after a year's probation. In return, said Broderick, "I want you to use your unique talents where others have failed in this horrible thing of drug abuse by children." In a field dominated by scare tactics, Evans held to an affirmative theme. He committed $400,000 of his own money and recruited Steve Karmen, composer of the / Love New York theme, to donate the jingle. Get High on Yourself would ask "drug-free American heroes" to talk about the pleasure, and glamour, of life on a natural high. Just as important, during the 6-hr, taping of the commercials, the "heroes" would mingle with a racial rainbow of youngsters. The special began as a single 60-sec. commercial and, with NBC's encouragement, just grew. It is a pastiche of folksy, campfire sing-alongs; rafter-shaking black church music; gritty rapping between Burt Reynolds and streetwise teens; and documentary footage about the making of the commercials and the special, with touches of Hollywood self-satire. Some of the sequences are blandly Middle American—Evans calls them "white bready." But there is plenty of funk in Rocker Ted Nugent. His hair hangs in crimped strands halfway down his bare, sweaty chest, and he talks in a singsong urban-punk cadence about how to stay straight while being more cool than the druggies. When he sings, the mild jingle becomes a heavy-rhythm wail.

Grim Reaper/39 Stripes Double Feature - 2 insanely hilarious/ Christian horror films! The twist is they try to scare you away from sinning, It does for sin what Jaws did for the ocean! Well, no, I guess it doesn't. Both of these are directed by Ron Ormond who is infamous for these type of films. Grim Reaper - A mother is worried about her husband and her older son. They are no longer going to church, begin communicating with dead spirits and, worst of all, the son wants to become a stock-car racer. 39 Stripes - The true story of Ed Martin, former chain gang convict who converted to Christianity in prison in 1944 and formed the HopeAglow Prison Ministries. Ron Ormond's dramatized version of Ed's life in prison follows him swinging on a hammer in a chain gang, remembering his life of squalor and petty crime, finding Jesus through the persistence of his future wife Alfreda, and helping other inmates find salvation through his preaching in the prison chapel. Moses suddenly appears, complete with huge department store Santa beard and eyebrows, to face a crowd of renegade Israelites and calls upon God to opens up the Mount to swallow them up. Without warning the camera shakes and a smoking hole appears; helpless sinners and even entire tents fly into the gaping mouth of Hell. Pirkle turns his horn-rimmed gaze on the camera and spits out, "Does that shock yew?" This is but a glimpse of the horrors to come, courtesy of the fertile imaginations of the Ormond Organization, for those of us who do not believe in a literal Burning Hell. If Footmen... - Based on the preachings of Reverend Estus W. Pirkle, this film warns what will happen to America if the citizens do not give up their depraved ways and turn to God and Jesus for salvation. Communist infiltrators, the "footmen", will pave the way for an all out invasion by weakening our will through TV, dance, rock music and alcohol. Once the invasion begins, the new Communist government will proceed to round up all Christians, and either execute them or force them to undergo re-education. Kidde's Better Watchout! Vol #1 - Totally Incredible, sick and twisted collection of education film rarities that YOU may have seen in the classroom as a kid. And if you did, is it any wonder kids started shooting up the joint? The piece-de-resistance here is the almost never seen 1964 classick THE CHILD MOLESTER which is the LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT of education films. If you've seen the amazing Documentary HELL'S HIGHWAY then you've heard of this lost film. Watch as various scumdogs lure little girls into their cars with candy and puppy's only to take them in the woods and hunt them like wild game, complete with lusting point of view shots! But worst of all is the final sting in the tail when the movie dissolves to actual crime scene footage of a couple of dismembered dead kids like the ones we have just watched being tormented. AND THEY SHOWED THIS TO KIDS! Also on this compilation is BOYS BEWARE, which shows how a pedophile will win the confidence of a young boy only to make a deal with him for sex. And when the dude gets caught the boy gets probation too! Fuckin-A! GIRLS BEWARE, which is essentially the same movie but from the girls point of view (the dimwit girl in this one is a hoot) and a couple of other SYD DAVIS productions on Stranger Danger. SYD was the Orson Well's of Classroom scare films and apparently was terrified of gay people, or at least seems to be if these movies are anything to go by!

After Ron Ormond died his wife and son continued in his tradition under the label "The Ormond Organization" this DVD contains 2 of rare films made during that time! First up is Sacred Symbols which feature a preacher and some people talking after church, half of them don't believe but the preachers try to convince them with the usual scare tactics. Next is "It's About The Second Coming!" which feature a long string of different bible lessons, such as recreating the Jesus crucifixion, Abraham sacrificing his son,  and then the usual preacher trying to convince non-believers, also goes into detail about he rapture and the mark of the beast (people actually have 666 written on their hands and the beat up those that don't...) as well as a futuristic look at the world in end times including patrolling robots! Not as gory as his other films, but just as crazy and much harder to find!
